Ranjish.com was created in 2008 when the only way to find good Urdu poetry was to buy hard books. This project was started by two friends with an aim to bring good Urdu literature online so it can be read and enjoyed by a broader audience. Until 2016, Ranjish.com was the biggest Urdu poetry website on the internet and enjoyed its peak for almost 5 years. Then in 2014, we decided to start producing poetry videos to meet the demand of young poetry lovers who preferred listening and watching a ghazal rather than actually reading it. We started producing videos and audio content back in 2010, but we stuck to facebook and soundcloud and did not realize the potential Youtube had back then.
