I make covers of music from games I like sometimes. I usually make 8 bit covers of music from indie games, but sometimes I might do other things. Such as, make Deltarune: Lightners Live Plus, a fangame of the rhythm game from Ch3, with many more maps, including custom maps! Here's the link: https://ezioeagle.itch.io/lightners-live-plus My 8 bit covers aren't technically 8 bit because they don't conform to any of the limitations of NES or Gameboy or whatever. I just like chucking in a bunch of notes into my DAW, while using 8 bit sounding instruments. 8 bit is just the easiest way to get across what my music sounds like, since I use almost exclusively square, 12.5/25% pulse, triangle waves, and noise. There are terms that are technically more accurate, like fake bit or digital fusion, but they're not very widely used terms outside of enthusiasts, so 8 bit is much more useful for most people to understand what I do.
