Dr. Shayesta Bedar joined the Library on 15/04/2019 as Director, Khuda Baksh O.P Library, Patna. Before joining Patna, she was serving Maulana Azad Library, AMU, Aligarh since 1993. A Ph.D. in History from Patna University, she is Master in Library Science, Persian & History. She has authored, compiled & edited several books and papers of research value in the field of Librarianship, Indian History, Journalism, Sir Syed & Aligarh Movement, Maulana Azad & Allama Iqbal, Critical editions of Indo-Iranics, Indic studies / Hindu studies (Banaras Temples; Hindu manuscripts) etc. Major Contributions of Dr. Shayesta Bedar during the last few years: a) establishing of a Library Museum at Maulana Azad Library of AMU, (b) Compiled, edited & brought out for the first time, Catalogues of Important Collections of 10,000 Manuscripts, preserved in Maulana Azad Library, (c) Compiled Indices of Significant Research Journals.
