2A for A explores what it means to be an “unconventional” gun owner—through the perspective of a progressive, chronically ill, queer woman of color. My goal is to empower others who are navigating the in-between space: marginalized identities within a largely non-marginalized community. I don’t claim to be a subject matter expert, and this isn’t about centering myself. Instead, I aim to highlight the broader community of unconventional gun owners and support others in taking their first steps toward ownership, confidence, and proficiency.
