Hi - I am Charu Swaminathan. I am a trained Hindustani classical singer living in Chicago. I'm passionate about singing, travel, and enriching my students’ lives for the better. I've have been an Indian Classical Vocal teacher for 25 years. I have learnt singing from various Gurus, Mr. Omkarnath Shukla, Dr Karhade ( Principal of Gandharva Mahavidyalay ), and for the past 3 decades from my Guruji, Pta Tripti Mukherji, a senior disciple of Pt Jasraj. I have also had the privilege of learning from my Bade Guruji, Pt Jasraj on several occasions. I still continue to pursue my passion and dedication to learning classical singing. I was inspired to change up the traditional way of teaching Indian Classical Singing and combine it with my own style of teaching to make the learning process more interesting and fun.
