Back in the days before the internet age people who moved from Pakistan, India or neighboring countries had no platform and source of entertainment. Suhail Rana, a young pharmacist who moved to the land of opportunities – United States from Karachi in 1975, started the monthly South Florida Pakistani newspaper Humwatan, which means “fellow countryman.” The newspaper was a success and people loved it since it wasn’t the age of the internet where everything was available online. Later he decided to start a television show called Dhanak, or “Rainbow.” The one-hour show was on WLRN-Ch 17. He was also producer of Asian American Focus. Fast Forward 15 years later, He decided to bring back Dhanak. Not as a TV show but initially as a youtube channel for the desi community.
