It is the combination of these elements that create the sand motion. Gravity will allow the sand to find its way through the tiny gaps between the air bubbles. The air bubbles are what hold the sand up, as the sand slowly falls it creates wonderful landscapes. Each time you turn the moving sand picture it will start again and form a new landscape, always forming a different picture.
