This YouTube channel offers viewers and listeners a scholarly and yet approachable guide to Indian history, culture, politics, and religion, and more broadly the inheritance of Indian civilization; however, it has also become a site for my video reviews of books, and lectures and interviews pertaining to world history, politics, and literature. Many of my UCLA lecture courses, with which this channel started, are neatly organized into playlists. For more advanced students and scholars, there is even a course on the Politics of Knowledge in Colonial India, just as for those millions who love mainstream Indian cinema, there is a course on "Bollywood and Nationalism". Scholars and students of Gandhi and nonviolence, and on the other hand of genocide, will find much material. In recent years, I have also added a few shorter videos, 5-30 minutes in length, of lectures and observations delivered on site--at Treblinka, Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram, etc.
