I'm a private pilot, who lives in Rural North Carolina. We will follow the process of building your own runway, landing cool planes, I fly a Husky Aviat A1 and a Piper Cherokee 140. One a true STOL bush plane and the other a hopped up little Cherokee. Come follow along as I learn about living on a farm, raising chickens, growing food and taking care of a runway. Smoke and Wings was name for my love of Barbecue and flying. A former IT nerd I may throw in some stuff about rural internet and broadband hacks as well. Living in a ramshackle falling down old farm house you will get a true glimpse into real life rural america, and the dream of having a backyard runway. It's not always pretty but it's always real.
