Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 1986 as Carlos Ariel Peralta Mendoza, Maffio began his musical journey at the age of six, teaching himself to play the piano. At only twenty years old, he achieved his first international success with “My Soul Dies.” His stage name, “Maffio,” was given to him by his father, inspired by his childhood fascination with mafia documentaries.
