We primarily teach women, but have men’s course. We also have an advance course addressing armed and multiple assailants in full force practice. The curriculum is progressive that culminates into full speed, full contact, applying options practiced if attacked. This is adrenaline stress training that we started in 1971. Curriculum is modeled on data captured from actual crimes and then applied to scenarios using the padded assailant who simulates behavior and characteristics that attackers applied in reality-based scenarios. No advanced martial arts training required. Name Model Mugging was inspired by Role Model Mastery work by psychologist Albert Bandura’s who worked teaching people how to overcome fear of snakes, flying, etc. Model Mugging applied these principles in helping women overcome the fear through a progression of skill and incremental increases in stress performance. There were many disciplines integrated into the course.
