Arctic Dreams is a Serbian sympho-industrial-black-death-metal band with Russian roots, founded in 2009 by vocalist and songwriter Alexander “ALEX_Y” Järvinen in Saint Petersburg. After a long period of studio work, the band became active again in 2020 and has been based in Belgrade since 2022. The band calls their style arctic dreams metal — a cold, powerful and cinematic sound that fuses symphonic arrangements, industrial rhythms, elements of gothic, dark-electro and extreme vocals. Their lyrics explore themes of war, mythology, psychological drama, and iconic literary and cinematic stories. Each song plays like a chapter of a dark concept album, leading the listener from the horrors of war to a philosophical reflection on life and death. In 2025 Arctic Dreams returned to the stage with a series of concerts across Serbia (Belgrade, Niš) and festival appearances, and now working on their second full-length album, promising an even more massive sound and a carefully crafted visual concept.
