I am a Wilms tumor childhood cancer survivor, diagnosed on March 2, 1989, at age 2½. My right kidney was affected. I was diagnosed at Memorial Hospital in Owosso, Michigan, where I was also born. I was treated at Sparrow Health in Lansing, Michigan, under National Wilms Tumor Study (NWTS) Protocol 4, Regimen DD-4A. My Broviac InfusaPort was removed on September 21, 1989, at age 3, in Lansing, Michigan. My nickname "JerBear" derives from my cancer battle.
