Welcome to Comprehensible Mandarin! For decades, research has shown that acquiring a new language by listening to comprehensible input may be the fastest, most effective method for learning a new language to a high level. It's also a lot more fun than traditional classroom & grammar study! Unfortunately, for many languages including Mandarin Chinese, there is currently a major lack of material designed to be understandable to beginners without relying on translation. Our goal is to fill that gap, by crowdfunding to hire native speakers to produce a shared resource, with large amounts of compelling, comprehensible input suitable for absolute beginners.
