Logging in more than 4 decades as a graphic designer in this industry, I’ve experienced the evolution from what was once considered “conventional” design application to what is now identified as “digital” design application. My strengths and skill set as a designer lie almost exclusively in “InDesign.” As a former “Quark” user, it was a “hard sell” to get me to move over to InDesign back in the early 2,000’s as Quark was the industry standard at the beginning of this whole “desktop revolution.” However, in very short order, it became apparent to me that the “winds of change” were blowing, and I quickly realized that if I didn’t want to be “left out in the cold,” I’d better make the transition (sooner versus later) … Truth be told, it was probably the “best” professional decision I’ve ever made in my professional career. Most of what I publish are “trouble shooting” techniques and “work arounds” in InDesign, Acrobat and a little Illustrator.
